I Turn Down Movie Roles Because Of My Child

Nigerian reality TV star, actress and singer, Bisola Aiyeola, has opened up on the effect of motherhood on her acting career.

The mother-of-one said she considers her daughter when thinking about movie roles she accepts, and she also thinks about peer influence.

Bisola as quoted by Pulse, explained that as a growing child, the type of characters she plays can affect her child either positively or negatively.

The actress said her trajectory has been one of patience and putting her daughter first, no matter what. She added that unknown to many, that she has been in the industry for years, even before participating in Big Brother Naija in 2017.

She said; “I have a growing child and sometimes some of the roles you take can affect her positively or negatively. Especially because she is growing…

You have other children around her who have different thoughts on what their parents do and so I have to be careful with some stories because I have to think that, in the long run, would it be a good look for my child?’”.

In another news…

Seasoned Nigerian actor, Saidi Balogun says movie producers have stopped offering movie roles to those like him that declared support for President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the filmmakers belong to the opposition which is why they’ve refused to call him to star in their films ever since he became an APC member.

According to the Yoruba movie star, he faces heavy backlash and he prays that what people are criticising him for favours him in the end.

Saidi, who is also the assistant spokesperson of the Performing and Creative Art Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said he supported Tinubu in the run-up to the 2023 election because he saw him as someone that could move Nigeria forward.

He said; “We get a lot of backlash. As a matter of fact, some producers no longer call us for work, because they belong to the opposition. But, before I came into the ‘war’, I was prepared.

“I only pray that what they are blasting me for would be fruitful to me and the people too. We did it for a purpose. I saw that this person (Tinubu) could help move the country forward.”
